I-CARE a Ton!

RMS students collected food over a four-week span in support of our I-CARE initiative, doing this out of pure goodness for the community and to help our kids learn to be giving, caring citizens. Through I-CARE and our school culture initiatives, we try to help our students remember that everyone can help make a difference, and it is important to be kind and give back to our community. This year, our goal was based around a theme of "I-CARE a Ton!" And, we actually tired to care TWO metric tons (appx 2000 kg). Our kids worked hard, were super generous, and had great success, collecting 2038 kg of food in total. We donated this to The Airdire Food Bank which provides wonderful service to many local families in need. Staff at The Airdrie Food Bank estimate that the 2038 kg we brought in translates into over $11,209 in food. Our staff and students are very proud to be able to donate this for such an important local cause. This is our fourth consecutive year donating amounts like this to The Food Bank, and we hope to repeat our act of I-CARE next year too.
